Frequently Asked Questions

Our church is going through a pastoral change.  What do we as the local church leadership do to make this a smooth transition?

A Pastoral Transitions Manual has been prepared with the initial work of the Western Ontario District of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada.  It has been adapted to the Saskatchewan District.  For a copy of this document, click here.  If you have further questions, or for assistance to walk through the process, contact the District Superintendent

Our church wants to sponsor a short-term missions trip.  May we give donation receipts for donations towards the expenses?

A registered charity may issue an official donation receipt for donated funds where the following criteria are met:

1. The church is a registered charity

2. The Short Term Missions Trip is an activity which conforms to the stated objectives of the charity.

3. The specific missions trip is formally approved by recorded motion of the Board.

4. The specific missions trip is carried out under the direction and control of the church.

Donors who contribute toward the following costs are eligible to receive an official donation receipt:

1. Travel

2. Accommodations

3. Materials and supplies to be used to aid in the missions work

An individual who volunteers to be part of a missions trip which is supported and approved by the church is eligible to receive an official donation receipt for donations paid to the church to cover travel, materials and other out-of-pocket expenses directly related to particating in the missions trip, provided the above criteria are met.  This also applies when donors are related to the individual going on the missions trip.
